Main Purpose of the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Assistant within the Purchasing department at NBI Partnership. The postholder will assist with processing received goods and equipment, physically and electronically, to stock locations or end users. They will move goods and equipment around the site, when requested, this could involve driving the stores van or forklift truck. Other duties will include notifying staff of express package receipts; keeping the stores area clean and tidy; removing waste from the department for recycling.

Education & Qualifications
- Maths and English GCSEs grades A*-C, or equivalent
Specialist Knowledge & Skills
- Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and similar programmes
- Ability to drive a forklift truck
- Previous experience of working in a stores environment
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- A strong customer focus
- Ability to work independently, using initiative and applying problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team
- Promotes equality and values diversity
- Full driving licence (the post will involve driving the stores van and forklift truck)

The NBI Partnership provides non-scientific services to the John Innes Centre (JIC), Quadram Institute Bioscience (QIB), Earlham Institute (EI) and The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL). The Stores team is responsible for managing a stock holding of a selected range of consumable laboratory products, stationery, computer consumables and cleaning products. They are also the focal point for all deliveries to the Institutes and an interface for deliveries to the end user.
The role involves working as part of the Stores team to process receipts and stock requisitions, move goods around the site and process express parcels. The role will also involve driving the Stores van and forklift truck.
The ideal candidate:
Candidates should possess good communication skills and a customer focussed attitude. They should have good computer skills and English and Maths GCSEs grades A*-C or equivalent. The successful postholder will require a driving license and a good level of physical fitness, as the role will involve moving large and heavy items.
Salary on appointment will be within the range £16,835 to £17,860 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a fulltime post on a permanent basis.
